CAIRO, July 13 – Egypt has reaffirmed its support for the United Nations and the multilateral international system during talks between Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and Costa Rica’s candidate for the position of United Nations secretary-general, Rebeca Grynspan.

According to a statement from Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, the meeting took place on Sunday and focused on the future priorities of the United Nations.

During the talks, Grynspan presented her vision for the organisation, highlighting the need to strengthen the UN’s role and improve its ability to respond to growing global challenges.

Abdelatty, in turn, reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to the United Nations and the multilateral international system. He also stressed the importance of upholding international law and the principles of the UN Charter.
