BEIJING, Mar 25 – China has signaled its readiness to deepen economic cooperation with Cameroon across infrastructure, energy and agriculture.
The commitment was made by China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao during a meeting with his Cameroonian counterpart in the capital, Yaoundé.
The discussions took place on the sidelines of a gathering of trade ministers organized by the World Trade Organization, according to an official statement.
The engagement reflects China’s continued push to strengthen its economic footprint across Africa, particularly in sectors critical to long-term development such as infrastructure development, energy expansion and agricultural productivity.
For Cameroon, deeper collaboration could support ongoing efforts to modernize key industries, improve energy access and enhance food security, while attracting investment into strategic sectors of the economy.
The talks also highlight the growing importance of bilateral and multilateral partnerships in shaping Africa’s development trajectory, as countries seek to leverage global alliances to drive growth and industrialization.
