ABUJA, Aug 11 – Glovo has launched a new Shopping Assistant on ChatGPT and Claude, allowing users to find products, compare prices and place orders through simple conversations with AI.
The company said the new feature will initially focus on retail and grocery products, where customers can use everyday language to describe what they need instead of searching through menus and filters.
Glovo said the move is part of its effort to adapt to changes in how people search for and buy products online as the use of generative AI grows.
The company said AI has already contributed to increased retail traffic globally, adding that the integration will allow it to reach customers who are using AI tools to research products.
Glovo Chief Technical Officer Shiro Theuri said the initiative is focused on giving customers more choices and making shopping more convenient.
The launch introduces a conversational approach to online shopping, where customers can describe what they want and receive product suggestions without going through traditional search and filter systems.
