NAIROBI, July 17 – Paystack has expanded its partnership with Pesalink, allowing businesses in Kenya to accept bank transfers directly through its checkout page.
The new integration builds on an existing partnership that has supported merchant settlements since 2025. It now allows businesses to collect customer payments, confirm transactions, reconcile records and receive settlements through the same banking infrastructure.
Under the new system, customers who choose Pesalink at checkout receive a dedicated bank account number and a one-time payment reference. They complete the transfer through their banking app, while the system automatically matches the payment amount and reference before confirming the transaction.
Paystack first introduced Pay with Pesalink in Kenya in October 2025 as another payment option alongside cards and mobile money. With this latest update, the company is positioning Pesalink as a core part of its payment infrastructure for businesses.
Pesalink, which is operated by Integrated Payment Services Limited under the Kenya Bankers Association, connects more than 80 Kenyan banks and savings cooperatives. Earlier this year, it also partnered with the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System to support cross-border transactions in Kenyan shillings.
The rollout is in line with Paystack’s strategy of adapting its products to different markets. In South Africa, the company added Capitec Pay in March 2026, allowing customers to approve payments directly through the Capitec banking app. In Nigeria, it also launched an early-access pilot in June 2026 that lets customers complete purchases through AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT using its Zap transfer product.
The company said the latest expansion is aimed at making digital payments faster and more seamless for businesses and their customers.
