ABUJA, Mar 23 – Nigerian fintech firm Moniepoint has acquired restaurant management platform Orda, deepening its push to integrate payments with day-to-day business operations across its growing merchant network.
The company said Orda will be rebranded as Moniebook for Restaurants and folded into its broader Moniebook platform, which combines bookkeeping, inventory management, and payments. Orda will continue to operate independently in the short term as integration progresses.
The deal, whose value was not disclosed, brings about 25 Orda employees into Moniepoint and adds a ready base of restaurant clients to its ecosystem. Orda, founded six years ago, raised $4.5 million in seed funding in 2022 and currently supports more than 1,075 restaurants, processing over 5.2 million transactions in 2024.
The acquisition comes as Nigeria’s food service market is projected to reach $12.37 billion in 2026. Moniepoint said restaurants already account for a significant share of its transaction volumes, with daily spending on its infrastructure hitting about ₦8 billion in 2025.
By integrating Orda’s software with its payment systems, Moniepoint aims to streamline how restaurants manage sales and payments. Under the new structure, transactions recorded within the platform will be automatically linked to payments, reducing the need for separate systems and manual reconciliation.
The move also allows the company to capture more transaction data, which could support additional services such as lending and business insights over time.
Orda’s existing integrations with delivery platforms like Chowdeck and Glovo are expected to be expanded, enabling restaurants to manage orders from multiple channels within a single system.
Moniepoint, which processed about ₦412 trillion in transactions in 2025, said the acquisition aligns with its broader strategy to build an integrated operating system for African businesses, starting with the food service sector.
