RABAT, Dec 19 – Morocco’s annual inflation rate rose to 0.3% in November from 0.1% a month earlier, according to data released on Friday by the country’s statistics agency.
Food prices, which remain the main driver of inflation trends in the North African country, fell 1.2% year on year. In contrast, non-food prices increased by 0.4% over the same period.
Core inflation, which strips out more volatile items, declined 0.9% year on year and fell 0.4% compared with the previous month, reflecting subdued underlying price pressures.
Earlier this week, the Moroccan central bank said it expects inflation to average 0.8% in 2025, before rising to 1.3% in 2026 and 1.9% in 2027, as domestic demand gradually recovers.
